Research on development of smart drug delivery 3D printed systems. CAD models of biomedical systems were developed and manufactured using additive manufacturing processes. In addition, metal additive manufacturing of stainless steel has also been carried out with sustainable strategies for post-processing.

➢ Project title: “Experimental investigations on FDM and SLA printed personalized drug delivery systems”. ➢ 3D printed methods of FDM and SLA were extensively explored with novel designs and machine codes. ➢ Visited CMRDI in Cairo, a premier metallurgical institute in Egypt, for characterization and dissolution studies of drug delivery device in July 2022.

➢ Developed low-cost fabrication of Ti-based dental crown using metal-extrusion 3D printing and hybrid metal injection molding method ➢ Metal 3D printing of dental crown and comparison with the low-cost method. ➢ Recycling of metal scrap into sheets and exploring its reuse in biomedical industry. ➢ Material characterization and metallographic sample preparation to evaluate microstructures and phase distributions of Ti-based dental crowns and also for recycled metal sheets.
